Membership Fees
Its still early days, and the JSBG is considering how best to handle administration costs for the group, including the establishment and ongoing costs of this dedicated JSBG website, e-newsletter and other email communications.
At this stage, there is no membership fee, with interested persons simply added to the member database for email updates on upcoming events and latest news items.
Costs for functions is yet to be established, and will depend on the level of sponsorship obtained through corporate citizens, and any other funding sources. The first two functions in 2009 were fully-sponsored events, thanks to the generosity of KPMG and the Consulate-General of Japan. Other Corporate sponsors have indicated their willingness to sponsor future JSBG events during 2010.
In the future, where a corporate sponsor is not available for a monthly gathering, a base $10 fee will be charged for the function, which will only vary dependent on the level of sponsorship obtained for each event, and if the format for the event changes to a sit-down format to accommodate a guest speaker/s etc.
It will be the aim of the JSBG to have each function either fully or partially sponsored to keep ongoing costs down for members.
